How Does The Scheme Work?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is designed to be installer-led, which minimises the amount of work that property owners are responsible for when applying for the grant. This means that we will apply for your grant with Ofgem and will then process the grant payment directly from Ofgem to ourselves.
The grant of £7500 will be deducted from your initial quote upfront, so you will never pay this money to us, nor will the government pay it to you. By cutting out the middle man you can save time, money and hassle, and the payment will be dealt with by the scheme administrators and Ecosolv Renewables.
Is My Property Eligible For The Grant?
Eligibility for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme is not means-tested, meaning your income will not impact whether you qualify for the grant. This is part of the government’s commitment to enhancing the carbon neutrality of the nation, regardless of your financial situation.
To qualify for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, the property must hold a valid EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) from within the last 10 years; have no outstanding insulation or wall cavity recommendations; be privately owned by the resident or a landlord for domestic or small commercial usage; and be replacing a fossil fuel boiler such as a gas boiler.
As we will be applying for the grant on your behalf before the work is carried out, we will be able to ensure that you meet all of the criteria to qualify before we start work. If you don’t qualify for the grant but still wish for us to carry out the work, we would amend your quote to include the additional £7500 that we would have otherwise received from the scheme.
