How Does An Air Source Heat Pump Work?

A network of tubes filled with a refrigerant gas draws in the outside air and circulates at 28 degrees and this warmth is then extracted as heat energy.

The refrigerant gas is then passed through a compressor that increases both the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant and condensing the cold gas into a hot liquid.

This hot liquid proceeds to a heat exchanger and heats the water that circulates through your radiators, heating system and hot water taps, before decompressing and restarting the cycle.

Throughout this process, there is no burning of carbon or any finite products, meaning your air source heat pump is totally renewable and self-sustaining.
